PALO ALTO, Calif., May 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Sanas, the world’s leading real-time accented translation technology company, today announced the addition of Sharath Keshava Narayana as co-founder and COO, Marty (Massih) Sarim as President, Pavan Karnam as Vice President of Data and Analytics and Dr. BalaKrishna Kolluru as Vice President of Engineering to the company’s growing leadership team of technology industry stars.

Since launching the company’s accent translation solution in August 2021 with $5.5 million in seed funding, Sanas has seen massive growth and is attracting top talent from different fields who are passionate about creating technologies that help eliminate bias and resolve communication issues between global teams and customers.

“There are a billion people around the world who have to communicate in English every day to keep their jobs despite it not being their first language,” said Maxim Serebriakov, co-founder and CEO of Sanas. “This issue is no different in Sanas, where 80% of us are immigrants. We’ve all struggled with these issues in one way or another; our goal in Sanas is to empower people to ring as they wish. We do this by bringing together a team of world-class experts who can apply not only their tremendous knowledge but also their personal experiences to dispel discrimination in the global workforce.”

Sharath brings over 18 years of experience launching AI-driven SaaS businesses and bringing their products to market. Previously co-founder and CRO of voice AI platform Observe.AI, he was instrumental in growing the company to multi-million revenue and securing multiple funding rounds, the latest being his $125 million Series C. Sharath is also an angel investor for various deep tech startups, who over the past decade has gained strategic expertise in scaling tech startups aimed at solving business business challenges. At Sanas, Sharath will use his extensive business development experience to support the rapidly growing company as an operator who knows how to build a billion dollar business, breaking down the barriers he saw in as an immigrant entrepreneur from India.

“I am extremely happy to have joined Sanas at such a crucial time. In addition to being an investor, I look forward to truly leaving my legacy to a company that solves a problem that, along with billions of people, I deal with all the days. day.” Sharath said. “Sanas already has such a passionate team that is driven to solve language barrier issues for an entire community. Of course, the technology is also impressive – there is limitless potential here waiting to be tapped into such a green space. .”

Marty brings over 25 years of experience in the call center and corporate communications industry. After moving to United States as a refugee from Afghanistan in the early 80s, he didn’t have the opportunity to go to college, so he started his career as a call center agent instead. Marty developed a passion for the industry, moving quickly into management before starting his own businesses and eventually landing in Enhanced Resource Centers where he worked for over 11 years, first as President and Director of operations, then as CEO. He brings to Sanas his experience as a direct call center agent and his vast network of contacts and potential customers, one of the many verticals sought by the company.

“I became one of the first investors in Sanas because I believed in the team and their ability to deliver this product that will change the world of market communication. I am grateful to have joined Sanas with what essentially became a team of ‘Avengers,’ each representing some of the best in their respective industries, including networking, technology and business,” Marty said. “I know firsthand the challenges of working in a center calls with a foreign accent, so providing real and effective technology that can eliminate bias and other issues is very powerful. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to bring my expertise to the mission of a company I so deeply aligned with.”

Pavan Karnam also joined the Microsoft team where he spent the last 15 years working on speech-related products. He previously worked on products from incubation to launch as a data science manager at companies such as Xbox, Hololens, HMD, etc. Pavan also brings a keen interest in phonetics and accented speech after moving to United States from India, and wrote an article about how accents change over time as people move to English-speaking countries. At Sanas, Pavan will lead a global team of data scientists and engineers to continue to develop a robust platform that will facilitate real-time accent translations for the first time on a global scale.

“When you change the way you speak, you’re no longer your authentic self,” Pavan said. “In many cases, and what many of us in Sanas have been through, immigrants have a hard ceiling they hit if they can’t get over their accent. Even the brightest people aren’t sure about sharing ideas because of a focus, so it’s amazing to have a hand in building technology that breaks down those barriers.”

dr. BalaKrishna Kolluru joins the team to lead engineering, bringing over 20 years of machine learning expertise in speech recognition, computer vision, text-to-speech, NLP and cybersecurity. Prior to joining Sanas, BalaKrishna served as a Principal Researcher at Praetorian and previously held various engineering positions at Toshiba and Clarify. At Sanas, BalaKrishna will use his extensive speech experience to build on the company’s real-time accent translation model.

“Sanas is paving the way for globalization, enabling hundreds of millions of people to communicate better,” BalaKrishna said. “I really look forward to working with such a passionate team to scale and drive product innovation for such an important type of technology.”
